A native of The Bahamas, Dr. Lorneka is affectionate, bold, funny, friendly and passionate. She is a pharmacist, certified health coach, international speaker and author who currently resides in Florida. Dr. Lorneka is an inductee in the 2016 Miami Date Hall of Fame.
As a little girl, her mother was diagnosed with renal failure. But years later, her mother began to have complications that warranted advanced medical care. Dr. Lorneka traveled with her mother to Cuba only to learn that she was in the last stage of multiple sclerosis. Her mother died on mother’s day of 2003. Dr. Lorneka believes that God used this pain to birth her purpose into becoming a pharmacist.
She began her tertiary education at The College of The Bahamas. After her mother’s death, she relocated to Florida where she obtained an Associate of Arts degree in Chemistry at Miami Dade College. Dr. Lorneka completed her education at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee where she received a Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
She is a certified Integrative Nutrition coach, HIV/AIDS 500/501 counselor and tester. Dr. Lorneka speaks to communities globally on wellness in the mind, body, relationships and on faith so that they may become whole.
Dr. Lorneka is employed by Walgreens. She also published her first book for women Spring 2016 – Right Things, Wrong Season. In her spare time, she enjoys serving at church, singing, coaching and spending time with loved ones. She lives by the scripture Matthew 6:33: Seek ye first the kingdom of God and everything else will be added unto you.
